Center pool needs repairs

The Center Swimming Pool needs to be repaired and the Oliver County Commission will have to decide if it wants to help.
The project would include replacing handicap access lift chairs and a slide. The chairs are expected to cost $3,000 to $6,000.
“We have expanded funds for routine maintenance and would appreciate your support toward these pool projects,” swimming pool committee member Terri Mosbrucker wrote in a letter. “Our estimated for these projects is $7,000 to $12,000. I would appreciate if you considered donating toward the pool to better our community.”
The pool opened in 1981, making it more than 30 years old. It was built after several drownings on Nelson Lake.
“Not one of our children has ever drowned in the pool,” swimming pool committee member Mary Wahlman said.
