Center speed limits changed

The Bakken Oil activity seems to be getting closer and closer to home. Already, Center is experiencing more traffic related to North Dakota’s oil boom. With the four new gravel pit permits approved in the county, city and county roads can expect an even greater increase of truck traffic. Those pits will be supplying some materials to the Bakken region, as well as local needs.
Truck traffic through Center has been the topic of numerous citizen conversations with Center City Council members as of late. At the Nov. 1 meeting, council members Dallas Morast, Sandy Olin and Mary Wahlman all reported being contacted several times last month over the speed of trucks traveling through town, especially on N.D. Highway 48, also known as Center Avenue.
