City discusses missing water

Where has all the water gone? Center has been trying to solve the mystery of where about 600,000 gallons of missing water went. During Monday night’s Center City Council meeting the answer got a little easier to find.
During the meeting, the city councilors discussed the water meter audit. City clerk Shandy Kraft said they found 90,000 of the missing 600,000 gallons of water.
“Ole Sletten came in with his meter and we found that his meter hasn’t been reading. It was broke. With that, we found that 90,000 gallons of water had been unmetered. I charged him the 90,000 at $5.75,” Kraft said.
Kraft added that the city had found another big chunk of missing gallons at the Fair Grounds.
