County to mediate road access issue for area landowners

Two Oliver County landowners disputing over a quarter-line road have asked the County Commission to help solve the problem. The road was built on land owned by one landowner, but used by the other to access his farmstead.

Adjacent neighbors Carlyle Bohrer and Bob Hatzenbihler appeared before the Oliver County Commission Sept. 10 for help in settling the dispute after Bohrer said he was closing off the road. Referring to Oliver County State’s Attorney Mike Liffrig for an opinion, they were told that the county does not have the same jurisdiction over quarter-lines that it does over section-lines.
