FFA members in action at National Convention

“Transform Purpose to Action” wasn’t just a conference theme for the four Center FFA members and advisor who recently returned from the 89th National FFA Convention & Expo in Indianapolis, Ind. The group focused on learning and leadership, even during their trip from Center to Indiana and back.
There would be plenty to learn at the convention, where the Center group joined more than 56,000 FFA members, advisors, and guests in workshops on agriculture, teambuilding, leadership, and career success, as well as a career fair offering hands-on experiences and college information.
“There are multiple sessions that have great keynote speakers and the best part is, it’s all archived, so when we came back we got to watch some of them in class,” Center-Stanton High School Agriculture Education Instructor and FFA Advisor Nikki Fideldy said. “They learned things you can’t get the true value of from a textbook.”
Traveling to the National Convention were Chapter Vice President Paige Beckman, Secretary Shelby Meckle, Reporter Annika Towe, and Treasurer Teanna Hintz. While the group had fun on their tours of a cranberry farm, a kettle chip factory, the Indianapolis Zoo, and the famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway, they said they also learned a lot in the process.
