Fire destroys trailer home
The Oliver County Fire Protection District, Oliver County Ambulance Service, and the Oliver County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to a house fire just before 8:40 p.m. Saturday evening. The back portion of the residence at 144 Interstate Avenue was fully engulfed when responders arrived, with flames shooting up from the roof.
Volunteer firefighters responded with two rigs and two tankers.
One individual was transported to the hospital for treatment of minor burns.
Firefighters left the scene between 10:30 and 11 p.m., leaving one rig and two firefighters to monitor hot spots.
Damage occurred to all but the front bedroom of the structure, which suffered water damage from efforts to extinguish the blaze. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The young family who lived in the trailer lost all of their belongings, either in the flames or due to water damage. A benefit is being organized; information was not yet available for print.
