Groundbreaking held for wind energy

Editor’s note: The following includes information from a Minnesota Power news release.

It’s wind that ruined the day – and it will be wind that will save the day.

High winds in cooperation with heavy rains last Thursday forced groundbreaking indoors for Minnesota Power’s Bison Wind I Energy Center to be built southwest of Center. About 150 landowners, contractors, regulators, and company, local and state officials attended the symbolic ceremony at the New Salem Auditorium after it was moved from the construction site.
