New owners excited about opening Bar and Grill downtown

Myron and Susie Cahoon are excited about their new business opportunity in Center. On Sept. 9 they purchased the Der Imbiss Bar and Grill and opened it with the new name Cahoon’s Bar and Grill. The new hours are 9 a.m.-1 a.m., Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. - 1 a.m. Sunday.

Besides Myron and Susie working in various capacities, they have hired Dan Smith, Emily and Pamela Lenior. Pamela is serving as the main cook.

"Pamela is a great cook," Susie said. "Lots of people say that."

Menu items range from Indian tacos as the special each Wednesday to Canadian bacon burgers. "Other than Wednesdays, every day the special will change," Susie said. "The soup is homemade and will match to the special. We’ve had beef barley and wild rice, for example."

Breakfast is served all day. "Come in and have an omelet at 11 in the morning or 11 at night," Susie urged.

In the bar, happy hour will run from 5-7 p.m. Monday through Thursday with reduced drink prices. Myron said they host special events such as birthdays and are having music on occasion. "We’re also planning on doing something special for Halloween," Myron said.
