Rock takes journey into science and geology

About 35 years ago Clem Becker, who worked for the Knife River Mine until retirement several years ago, found an unusual rock while walking the hills south of Beulah for work one day.
Clem always watched for different rocks and this one, found near the Knife River, happened to catch his eye. He reached down to pick up the black rock that was a little more than 6 inches in length and 4 inches in depth, and was surprised when he discovered it was quite heavy.
