Sannes loves coaching kids

Baseball is a hard game to play and even harder game to coach. Imagine trying to heard kindergarteners on a hot summer day. It’s not something most would sign up for. But Washburn senior Jack Sannes loves it.
“I’ve coached tee-ball all the way up from tee-ball to little league. The progression I’ve seen in the kids is just unbelievable. My first year we went into the tournament and took first place. I think every year since then we’ve been in the little county championship game,” Sannes said.
“It’s fun to see the kids progress and the bonds that they’ve made. And what kind of program my brother and I have built through the parks and rec.”
Most high school kids don’t use the word fun when describing coaching little league. Most parent-coaches don’t either. But Sannes does. He truly enjoys helping kids get better and have fun.
