Sunday blizzard closes schools and businesses across the state
Activity ground to a halt in Oliver County April 14 as snow and wind combined to create blizzard conditions. The storm dropped record snowfall in the Bismarck area and caused almost complete closure of Interstate 94 from Montana to Minnesota and U.S. Highway 83 from Bismarck to North Dakota Highway 1806. U.S. Highway 2 and all state highways to its south were “no travel advised” by the North Dakota Department of Transportation.
According to the National Weather Service in Bismarck, Center received 22 inches of snowfall.
