Wildcats get close, fall at the buzzer
The home team is usually favored to win a close game, but that wasn’t so Monday. The Center-Stanton Wildcats entered Monday’s home game against Wilton-Wing on a 9-game losing streak.
Wildcats fall to 0-5
The Wildcats participated in the McLean County Shootout last weekend, losing two games. Cole Helmers and the Wildcats’ offense will try to top the 50-point mark for the first time this season on Friday against Garrison in a varsity double-header. The varsity girls will play first at 6:30 and the varsity boys will follow after.
Wildcats open season on road starting season 0-2
The Center-Stanton Wildcats entered the year knowing that they would have to figure out a way to replace most of their senior starters from the 2013-14 basketball season. The Wildcats didn’t find a way last week and fell on the road twice.
‘Cats complete big step
The Center-Stanton Wildcats wanted to make a move near the top of Region 5 this season and have their name mentioned as a team that could challenge for a state tournament spot. The Wildcats almost got there this year taking third place at the Region 5 tournament in a series of regular season rematches.
Fall in District 10 finals
The Center-Stanton Wildcats entered the District 10 tournament with a perfect record in District 10 play.
‘Cats can’t top Shiloh
The Center-Stanton Wildcats entered the week right where they wanted to be on Monday. They earned the top seed in the District 10 tournament and had the top team from District 9 on their home court for a non-district game.
Wildcats VB perfect
The Center-Stanton Wildcats ended District 10 play with a perfect 5-0 record last week. The Wildcats locked themselves in as the No. 1 seed for the District 10 tournament, which will start Nov. 3 and be hosted by Wilton. Earning a perfect District 10 record meant staying assertive and aggressive against Washburn, a team with a losing district record. The Wildcats stayed focused and won on the road three sets to none.
