Boys lose close District 10 game

The Wildcats were in control for most of their home District 10 game against Underwood, but the game got away late. Underwood pulled out a close 55-50 win.
The fourth quarter started with Center-Stanton up 43-34, and it seemed like Center-Stanton was going to turn their near double-digit lead into a home win. Center-Stanton started the fourth quarter well, pushing their lead to 11 points, 50-39, with five minutes to play.
The next three minutes didn’t go well. Underwood went on a 10-0 run, making Center-Stanton’s lead two points, 50-48.
With two minutes left in the game, things got worse. Parker Heger, Underwood junior, made a 3-pointer, putting Underwood up 51-50 with two minutes left to play.
Center-Stanton followed with a turnover, which Underwood converted into two points, making the score 53-50. Center-Stanton still had a chance to tie the game and utter mayhem followed.
Underwood showed full-court pressure, which almost forced a turnover. The ball bounced every which way, but Center-Stanton maintained possession.
