Cardinals can’t remedy Miner hitting

It’s no secret that Washburn-Wilton-Wing-Center-Stanton and Beulah are viewed as two of the region favorites to advance to the state tournament. Beulah’s only loss of the season was to W-W-W-C-S in a five-inning game on the road. Both teams met once again on Monday, giving a possible regional playoff preview.
The first game started with Patrick Becker, Beulah senior, pitching against Ryan Mlekoday, WWWCS junior. Early on it looked like WWWCS was getting the best of Becker by making their at bats last long into the count. Becker threw 19 plus pitches in the first inning but didn’t allow a single run in the inning and only one hit.
