Park visitors should be aware of burn bans
Several North Dakota counties have declared burn bans and state parks follow county regulations in regards to the use of fires within their confines.
Campers and park visitors can go online at www.parkrec.nd.gov to determine if state parks are under a burn ban. The North Dakota Parks and Recreation Department website provides links to the North Dakota Division of Emergency Service interactive Burn Ban Map and National Weather Service Fire Danger Index. Visitors can call parks directly to find out if a fire ban is in effect and parks will post information on bans and fire dangers.
