Strength training, optimism in the future for C-S football

Brett Eckert is generally a positive, upbeat guy.

That wasn’t the case for the first-year head coach during the first quarter of Center-Stanton’s final football game Thursday. Fumbling the opening kickoff then adding on an array of miscues, allowed Hettinger to jump ahead 20 points in the first half. Despite a stellar fourth quarter offensive burst, the Wildcats ended the season 1-7 with a final 34-20 loss.

"The boys realized I wasn’t the happiest with our performance. The first half was ridden with miscues and mental mistakes," Eckert said. "I think the boys understood by halftime and took it upon themselves to finish on a positive note."
