Wildcats boys program has new coach leading

By Jarann Johnson

Center-Stanton boys hoops will have a new leader. Garrett Jacobs is in charge of trying to resuscitate the Center-Stanton boys basketball program. Last year Center-Stanton only fielded a varsity team and growing the program at the JV and C-squad levels will be goal No. 1 this year.
Right now Jacobs see’s what every rebuilding project needs – hungry hearts. Jacobs said Center-Stanton has a group of hungry players who want to build the program back up.
“Bunch of hungry guys that want to improve the culture of the boys basketball team in Center. They want to put together some wins,” Jacobs said.
Center-Stanton has the desire but they’ll also face some challenges. They are a young team with two seniors, no juniors, two sophomores, three freshmen and two eighth graders. On top of being young, they are also learning new concepts. Jacobs described his plans for the team.
