Wildcats earn sweep

Center-Stanton’s girls won 54-51 and the boys won 51-49.
Early on, Center-Stanton went up 12-6 on a beautiful transition play.Center-Stanton senior point guard Amber Frank found sophomore Katy Kraft open for a transition layup. Center-Stanton couldn’t extend their lead before the period ended and led 15-9 at the end of the first quarter.
Hannah Hoffman, a Center-Stanton sophomore guard, hit a 3-pointer early in the second quarter giving her team an 18-9. Center-Stanton eventually stretched their lead to double-digits with a Vitek free throw split.
Vitek’s free throw split gave Center-Stanton a 23-13 lead with four minutes remaining in the first half. Wilton-Wing didn’t falter while facing their first meaningful deficit of the game. Instead, of faltering they played better defense, only allowing Center-Stanton to score once before the half ended.
