Wildcats fall at home

Early on the Wildcats were ahead but they couldn’t build off their strong first period. The Wildcats loss at home to Heart River by 16 points after leading in the first quarter 17-9. The Wildcats couldn’t overcome shooting woes near the basket in the loss.
The first quarter went well for the Wildcats, they built an 8-point lead but it ended with a possible sign of defeat looming. Near the end of the period Lane Erhradt, Center starting point guard, was scratched in the face causing him to bleed and be taken out of the game.
The old wise tell about being the first team to draw blood proved true. In the second period the Wildcats committed several turnovers and only made one shot in the first four minutes of the period. Heart River used the slow period and built a 25-19 lead.
Senior guard Logan Staigle made two free throws, making the score 25-21 and the game stayed close until there were about five seconds left in the first half. The Wildcats trailed 34-31 and had a chance to cut Heart River’s lead or tie the game with an inbound play, but the Wildcat’s inbound chance turned into a nightmare.
