Wildcats get swept by Wilton-Wing

By Jarann Johnson

The Center-Stanton Wildcats were hoping to grab a District 10 win at home last week against Wilton-Wing. The showdown turned into an offensive struggle for both teams and Center-Stanton wasn’t quite capable of taking the game late.
Center-Stanton lost 39-30.
Buckets were hard to come by during the game. At halftime Center-Stanton trailed 14-13.
Center-Stanton ended the third quarter of the game trailing by six points, 25-19, but wouldn’t stay down for long. Madeline Henke, Center-Stanton senior point guard, started the fourth quarter hot.
Henke scored a 2-pointer then found Mykaela Jacobson for a layup. Right after finding Jacobson for score Henke made another huge play – driving in for a score and converting an and-1.
Henke’s hot start to the fourth quarter put Center-Stanton up 26-25. Center-Stanton fans were feeling like their team was going to turn their hot start into a District 10 win but Wilton-Wing junior guard Lauren Koski ruined those aspirations.
