Wildcats jump well
By Jarann Johnson
It’s not very often track fans see the difference between the varsity and junior high track levels at the same meet. But on Friday at the McLean Invite in Underwood that’s exactly what track fans saw. The Center-Stanton Wildcats came away with three seventh place team finishes and a 10th place finish for varsity girls at the meet.
The name of the game for the boys’ team was placing in the jumping events. The varsity boys team had five placers in three jumping events. Senior Lane Erhardt had the best showing, taking second in the high jump by clearing 5 feet and 8 inches.
Logan Staigle joined him in the high jump by clearing five feet and tied for fourth place with one other athlete. The only other event in which the Wildcats had multiple placers was the triple jump.
