Wildcats VB gets unlucky bounce

By Jarann Johnson

One unlucky bounce is all it took to ruin the Center-Stanton homecoming volleyball match. Late in the fourth set Center-Stanton senior Morgan Vitek hit a strong and well-timed shot but her reward never came. Center-Stanton fell at home against Napoleon-Gackle-Streeter 3-1: 25-11, 16-25, 19-25, and 25-27.
Center-Stanton got off to a great start in the first set. Ashley Frank, a senior, put her team up 5-1 with a kill early on. Frank’s team continued their strong start and lead 12-4 after a kill by Center-Stanton senior Vitek.
Jen Schmitt, Napoleon-Grackle-Streeter head coach, called timeout after the Vitek kill. Schmitt’s timeout didn’t turn the momentum of the first set and Center-Stanton collected a 25-11 win.
