Wildcats win 6-man opener

By Jarann Johnson

Center-Stanton football fans didn’t know what to expect last week when their team started a new era. Center-Stanton moved down from 9-man to the newly formed 6-man ranks, which means they’re playing on a smaller field with fewer total players and a few other rule tweaks compared to regulation 11-man.
Center-Stanton hosted Alexander and won 49-0 to kick off their new era of football.
The start of the game against Alexander was odd. Center-Stanton’s kicker Sam Gonzales kicked the ball a few feet toward the right sideline. Center-Stanton was there with the on-side recovery and their first possession of the 6-man era.
