WWCS starts tournament with loss to the Skyhawks

The Washburn/Wilton/Center-Stanton Cardinals lost their first game of the Region 8 tournament 2-1 against Shiloh Monday afternoon. WWCS entered the tournament, they were hosting, as the No. 5-seed and Shiloh entered as the No. 4-seed.
WWCS got an early 1-0 lead in the third inning when senior Karson Backer hit a one-run single, which was the only RBI of the game.
WWCS Senior starting pitcher Braydee Hanson couldn’t hold on to the lead for his team. Shiloh senior Jared Baumiller seemed to get caught in a rundown between third base and home.
The senior beat Trevor Schreiner’s tag to tie the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the fourth. The next inning Shiloh took over the lead by scoring Chase Schiele.
