The faculty at Underwood public school added one new teacher this year. Tania Eichhorst took the position of high school science teacher. Eichhorst, originally from the area, has enjoyed being back in the classroom after some time away from teaching. “I’m very happy to be back in a classroom setting,” Eichhorst said. “I’ve always loved teaching.” Eichhorst has a bachelor’s degree in biological and physical science and a master’s degree in chemistry and physics from University of North Dakota and Bemidji State. Her past career experiences include teaching in Minnesota for 10 years before taking a job at the Turtle Lake – Mercer school as a technology coordinator for 11 years. Now at Underwood School, Eichhorst teaches earth and physical science, physics, chemistry, advanced chemistry and applied biological chemistry.
