Comets spoil Troop home game

By Suzanne Werre
Defense was key for the Comets Tuesday night in Garrison, as seniors Maria Wirtz, Taysha Snyder and McKenna Wilson combined for 81 digs to get the ball into offensive mode, where Kaylie Wilson and Maggie Eng took over, tallying 17 and 7 assists, respectively.
Capping off the attacks were Mackenzie Snyder with 13 kills, Callie Berg and Wirtz, each with seven kills, and McKenna Wilson with six kills, as the Comets topped the home-standing Troopers 3-1.
“Garrison had very good blockers,” commented Underwood Coach Clarissa Kruger. “The girls were able to hit around those blocks and see the open spots on the floor.”
