Three of Central McLean’s girls’ relay teams are close to qualifying for state by time, while in boys’ competition, thrower Nicholas Dammen hit his second state qualifying mark – this time in the shot put.

Dammen has already qualified in the discus, but Saturday Dammen earned his state berth in the shot put, with his toss of 47-1.5, bettering the qualifying standard of 46-9.

Jacob Kibler, however, brought home the top finish at Saturday’s Shiloh Invitational, placing first in the triple jump with his leap of 35-11.

In girls’ action Saturday, the 400 and 3200-meter relay teams both brought home second-place finishes, with the 400 team of Taysha Snyder, Emily Eichhorst, Mackenzie Snyder and Madison Holm finishing with a time of :53.92 – state-qualifying time of 52.84.

That same team ran the 400 relay Thursday, finishing second with a time of 53:44, getting edged out at the finish.
