The Hazen boys basketball team is striking while the iron is hot. On the verge of a 12-game winning streak, the undefeated Bison took a big step into achieving some of their postseason goals last week with a 75-41 crusade over District 14 foe Richardton-Taylor.
Stetson Carr scored 21 points to lead another balanced outing by the Hazen boys basketball team as it defeated arch-rival Beulah 66-63 Friday. Josh Rothe had 14 points and Jon Doll had 13 for the Bison which cracked the state media poll for the first week with an eighth place rating.
Hazen girls basketball coach John Ward has had a clear plan each game going out this season. Finally, Friday his team performed it to a T. The Bison jumped all over Garrison right away and kept the pressure on en route to a 61-28 victory in Hazen.

The Hazen boys basketball team was bound to have a few unsettled nerves in their season opening game against Des Lacs-Burlington Dec. 1. Thankfully, their bench had the steady hand to get through the tough spots en route to a 59-51 victory over the Lakers at the Hazen High School gym.
