The Beulah-Hazen wrestling team hosted a quad dual last week and came away with two wins. The first win was an easy laugher over New Town and the second win was a close win decided late over Watford City.
Beulah-Hazen dominated their dual with New Town. The dual started at 138 with Ethan Lagge (Beulah-Hazen) topping Joesph George (New Town) 13-0 for a major and 4-0 lead. After Lagge’s win, Beulah-Hazen racked up tons of points via forfeit.
New Town forfeited in nine classes, which gave Beulah-Hazen 54 points. The 54-point forfeit surrender pushed Beulah-Hazen’s lead to 58-0.
Beulah-Hazen only wrestled in two other matches. Jeremy Leintz, senior, wrestled at 120 for Beulah-Hazen against Charlie Hunter. Hunter didn’t stand much of a chance and fell in 1 minute and 36 seconds.
The next match featured Beulah-Hazen freshman wrestler Brandon Snyder vs. New Town’s Colby Amick at 126. Snyder ended the match quickly with a 37-second pin.
The next dual was a tougher wrestling match for Beulah-Hazen. Both teams opened the dual at 152 and surrendered double forfeits.
Beulah-Hazen took an early lead on a Tyler Erickson pin at 160. Erickson pinned Andres Alfaro in 1:55, putting his team up 6-0. Beulah-Hazen pushed their lead to 12-0 with a forfeit at 170; then Damian Eslinger pinned Josh Duckworth, putting Beulah-Hazen up 18-0.
