Beulah-Hazen XC pushing pace
By Jarann Johnson
Combining two meets and training in one week is a challenge. Last week it was exactly what the Beulah-Hazen cross-country team did. Beulah-Hazen hosted their home meet early in the week then headed to Dickinson Friday for a meet at the Heart River Golf Course.
The Beulah-Hazen boys placed 3rd at their home meet and 6th at the Dickinson meet. The team was led by three top 20 finishers at the Beulah meet. Isak Olson led the way taking seventh in 18 minutes and 44.56 seconds. Ian Busche (19:37.59) and Jacob Weigel (20:44.88) also earned top 20 spots at the meet.
The girls were led by Baylee Vondra at the Beulah Meet. Vondra took 12th overall (23:07.78). Shenise Klein (23:19.03) and Katie Duttenhefer (23:38.97) also earned top 20 spots at the meet.
Isak Olson was the only runner to earn a top 20 spot at Beulah-Hazen’s next meet in Dickinson. Olson took 16th overall (18:06.07).
Beulah-Hazen head coach Mary Hoherz said her team’s focus right now is training hard and pushing through the meets.
