Beulah tops Hazen in regular season finale

By Jarann Johnson

The Beulah Miners and Hazen Bison met last week to end the regular season. Beulah is near the top of the region and Hazen is battling to avoid the bottom of the region.
The different levels the schools are at became apparent early on. Beulah led by 15 points at the end of the first quarter and never looked back, winning 69-28.
Beulah had four players reach double-digits in the win – Logan Miller (18), Reece Hoherz (13), Chad Morsette (13) and Jacob Weigel (12). Hazen’s attack was led by two players in double-digits – Jayce Zuern (10) and Isaac Doll (10).
The win gave Beulah an 18-3 regular season record and the loss gave Hazen a 5-16 regular season record. Beulah and head coach Jeremy Brandt will have to wait until March 6 to play their first playoff game.
Beulah’s break until their first playoff game is 10 days long. Brandt said his team would attack the break by keeping practices competitive and  focused on reaching practice goals.
