Bison fall to Lions
By Jarann Johnson
Whoever said home is where the heart is has never played sports. For the Bison girls basketball team home is where the pain has been this season. The Bison suffered a three-point loss in their home season opener to Underwood and suffered another home loss before Christmas to Linton. The Bison fell to Linton 50-45 five days before Christmas.
Dakota Wood, sophomore starting guard, gave the Bison an early lead with a 3-pointer. But it was quickly negated by McKenna Flyberg’s 3-pointer and the teams found themselves tied again. The Bison broke the tie and built a lead with a Krista Slaubaugh, sophomore reserve forward, score and Lexie Biffert, senior forward, 3-pointer, but Flyberg brought her team right back with a 3-pointer, making the score 8-6.
Slaubaugh continued to play well and added another 2-pointer making the score 10-6 with 3 minutes and 30 seconds left in the period.
