Cross Country starts 2019 season

The state preseason coaches poll came out andBeulah-Hazen sophomore Ian Busche found his name on the top 10 list at No. 9 overall.
Saturday at Beulah-Hazen’s season-opener Busche showed why he’s on the list, nearly breaking the 18-minute barrier at the Jamestown “Orr” iginals meet.
Busche posted a top 20 finish, taking 14th place overall with a time of 18 minutes and 9.03 seconds. Busche’s race pace for the day was 5:48 per mile and helped him finish as the second-highest Class B boy at the meet.
Patrick Wriggly (Shiloh) finished fifth overall and was the top Class B boy (17:11.72). Wriggly’s race pace for the meet was 5:32 per mile. Jacob Knodel (West Fargo Sheyenne) won the race in 16:28.09, which is 5: 18-mile pace.
Beulah-Hazen had three other top 50 finishes at the meet. Dayton Fiddler, a senior, finished 35th overall with a time of 19:42.34 and Brady Alexander finished in 21:28.09 for 48th place overall. Both runners broke the 7-minute mile pace in their first meet of the year.
