Hazen almost there
By Jarann Johnson
If John Bon Jovi had worded “Livin’ on a prayer” a little differently, it might have been blasted on the speakers at the end of Hazen’s 41-6 home win over Garrison-Max last Friday. Hazen’s win put them one win away from another perfect season, a little more than halfway there.
The Bison offense worked like magic and scored every time they touched the ball in the first half. Not only did they score, but they scored on their first play three times to start the game.
The first score was set up by Connor Doll, starting quarterback. Doll found a gap and exploded through it, then he pitched the ball to Wyatt Carr, sophomore running back, with nobody around for the score.
Doll wasn’t done showing off his mastery of the option on senior night. The senior led another one-play drive, exploding through a gap for a 60-yard touchdown run, making the score 14-0. Then the senior showed off some defensive skills, intercepting a ball and returning it 55 yards to the 1-yard line.
