Hazen ends regular season
By Jarann Johnson
Hazen vs. Beulah is always an intense matchup, because athletes from both towns want bragging rights against each other. Sunday’s final installment of Hazen vs. Beulah featured a pitching smorgasbord.
The main reason the game featured eight different pitchers was because both teams wanted to save their pitchers for region tournaments this week. Sunday’s game featured five different Beulah hurlers and three different Hazen pitchers.
Beulah won away from home 5-3.
Josh Snyder started the game for Hazen at pitcher and got off to a rough start. Alec Battest led off for Beulah, reaching on an error. Snyder came back with a strikeout to record Hazen’s first out of the game.
A few moments later Snyder found himself in a tough situation – base runners on first and third with only one out. Snyder forced Devin Sardelli into a fielder’s choice, but it wasn’t enough to stop the runner at third from scoring.
