Hazen FB falls but still in playoffs
By Jarann Johnson
Hazen and Killdeer knew what they were battling for last week. Earning a win gave them a guaranteed playoff spot as the No. 3-seed. Earning a loss meant having to rush back to cellphones after the game and finding out how the Beulah vs. Bowman game ended.
Hazen found themselves rushing to their phones after a 35-0 away loss to Killdeer. Thankfully Hazen’s rival to the west did their job and beat Bowman. The Beulah win put Hazen into the playoffs as the No. 4 seed.
The game vs. Killdeer lacked offensive beauty for Hazen. Hazen only earned 68 yards of total offense in the game. Hazen senior QB Peyton Leintz gained the most yards, throwing for 60 yards but the rushing game never got going.
