Hazen girls fall in opener
By Jarann Johnson
Hazen head coach John Ward entered the season-opener with a big test against Shiloh. Shiloh only lost one game last year and is on a “prove it” mission this year. Hazen didn’t stop Shiloh from proving why they are one of the best teams in the state, falling 66-33 at home
Shiloh led 18-8 after the first period. Then Hazen’s offense ran into trouble, only scoring two points in the second. After the second period, Shiloh’s lead was 43-10. Hazen never came back and fell by 33 points.
Laekyn Schwab gave Hazen fans a little bit to cheer about. Schwab scored 11 points and made three 3-pointers during the game. Hazen didn’t have any other players finish in double-digits.
