Hazen girls fall to rivals

Hazen and Glen Ullin-Hebron have developed a recent rivalry over the last few years. Monday night’s battle resulted in Glen Ullin-Hebron coming away with a close 47-44 road win. The game wasn’t decided until late.
With three minutes to play the score was tied 40-40. Alexius Gietzen, junior, broke the tie with a score, putting Glen Ullin-Hebron up 42-40. Then Kiana Schatz, Glen Ullin-Hebron senior, forced a turnover and scored putting Hazen up 44-40.
Hazen fans were tense with their team on the edge of defeat. Tia Bornemann delivered a clutch bucket for Hazen after Kameri Olson forced a turnover. Bornemann scored and was fouled from behind. On the ensuing free throw, Bornemann missed.
