Hazen girls golf team ready for postseason

The Hazen girls golf team entered the season with high hopes for standout Beth Leier. Leier, a senior, entered the year with hopes of winning a state title after taking second place last year at the Girls Class B state tournament.
Leier recapped her season so far, saying it started strongly. But that she’s working through a bumpy stretch right now.
“For me individually I started out pretty strong, having the off-season so many months long. I started out pretty good. I have kind of been in a rough patch. My splits haven’t been good. I shot a 38-48 yesterday in Beulah [May 9]. So, I haven’t been very consistent,” Leier said.
Leier thinks she’ll be be able to prepare and perform consistently at regionals because of the 10-day gap between the Beulah meet and the regional meet.
“With having so much time between our regional meet and other meets it’s kind of nice. I’ll have time to prepare. I’m hitting well and I’m really excited. My team makes me hit well and they get me excited,” Leier said.
