Hazen keeps on winning

By Jarann Johnson

The Bison continue to dominate. Friday night everything went according to plan for Hazen and ended with a homecoming win. The Bison won 57-6, moving their record to 3-0 and keeping their top ranked spot in the state.
It didn’t take long for the Bison to let Central McLean know why they are No. 1 in the state. Nate Leintz ran for a 41-yard score with 11:05 left in the first quarter, meaning it took the Bison all of 55 seconds to get their first score of the game.
Connor Doll followed by bobbling the extra point snap but recovered by passing to Starley Summer for the two-point conversion. It appeared that nothing was going to go wrong for the Bison from that point on, but plenty went wrong for Central McLean.
Noah Wirtz fumbled the kick return and Hazen recovered. This time homecoming king Dominick Opp scored, rushing for a 3-yard run. Hunter Fears followed with a clean extra point making it 15-0. Central McLean turned the ball over again. This time Austin Cieslak intercepted the ball.
Boom, boom, boom and Hunter Stefan added an 11-yard touchdown run making the score 21-0. Fears remained perfect making another extra point moving the lead to 22 points with 8:59 left in the game.
