Hazen Legion undermanned at regionals

By Jarann Johnson

Hazen Post 189 wanted to sprint into the Class B state American Legion tournament with a vat of positive momentum. But they entered the Class B District 1 regional tournament elimination game with eight players. Hazen fought hard but fell 5-2 against Heart River at the Hettinger’s Mirror Lake Baseball Field.
Hazen entered the top of the seventh inning hoping they could sneak out a win. They were tied at 1-1 but knew the odds were against them. None of the Hazen Babe Ruthers were available because of the Babe Ruth state tournament.
Hazen was also without Seth Olander because of illness and Isaac Doll because of a Catholic Youth Conference. Even though Hazen was out-manned they still had a chance late.
