Hazen moves to 2-1 in Region 7

Last week the Bison had three games; two important home Region 7 games and one non-regional road test. The Region 7 games were against Trinity and New England – two teams expected to be in the mix for a Region 7 tournament round bye and Our Redeemers an athletic team from Region 6.
The Bison went 1-2 in the week. Their first game of the week was against Dickinson Trinity – last year’s Region 7 second place finisher. The Bison knew that a great deal of their success would depend on limiting Rachel Jahner, senior starting point guard.
The Bison held Jahner to three points on 1 of 12 shooting. But Trinity got great efforts from two other players – Brianna Soehren and Kennedy Keater. Soehren, a reserve post, scored 13 points and had eight rebounds. Keater, a guard, 20 points and shot 50 percent from the field.
Another thing that helped Trinity in the game was great offenseive rebounding. The Bison allowed Trinity to get 19 offensive rebounds and only managed to get eight of their own rebounds
The inside-outside duo of Keater and Soehren was too much for the Bison and they fell 64-44. The leading scorer in the game for the Bison was Kendra Slaubaugh, a senior post, with 10 points.
