Hazen prepares for big game
By Jarann Johnson
Hazen has one final regular season home game this year. They are facing off against 1A rival Killdeer in a game with playoff implications. Killdeer needs a win to get into the playoffs and Hazen needs a win to hold on to their No. 3-seed for the playoffs.
Hazen wants to win this game because a loss could result in them dropping from the No. 3-seed to the No. 4-seed, which would mean a first-round playoff date with Velva or Bishop Ryan. Velva went to the state semifinals last year and has recorded three defensive shutouts this year.
Bishop Ryan has been an equally dominant team this year, winning their last three games with defensive shutdowns. Either way, Hazen will have a test in the first round of the playoffs.
