Hazen steals game away from Beulah

By Jarann Johnson

Beulah entered their home matchup with Hazen last week hoping to send a message to everyone in the region. Instead, Hazen walked away with an important 8-3 win in the region counter and added a 5-4 nightcap win for the sweep.
Hazen started Steven Baardson at pitcher and Beulah started Shaye Yeager. Both pitchers made it through the first inning without giving up a run but Baardson had the first challenge of the game.
Beulah started the second with two walks and Braden Zuroff added a single. Joe Hager approached the batter’s box with the bases loaded and no outs. He hit a hard grounder, which took a big hop and Hazen committed a throwing error allowing two Beulah runs to score.
