Hazen using state golf as springboard

Hazen golfers headed to the Class B state meet last week. Sending two golfers to the boys state meet, showed growth toward rebuilding the boys program. Making it to the team state golf meet and earning a top 10 spot without any seniors proved the girls program is still strong.
Hazen didn’t send a team to the boys Class B state tournament in Mapleton. But they did send to individuals to the state meet. Isaak Obenauer and Tyler Wolf both competed for Hazen at the state meet.
Obenauer took 60th overall and Wolf was 91st overall. Boys head coach Chad Marshall said the tournament went well.
“It went really good. We exceeded expectations. Both boys played pretty close to as well as I thought they could’ve. They both gave themselves chances Day 2, to finish above where they wanted to – where I thought they could finish,” Marshall said.
