Hot streak helps Bismarck over B-H

Last Tuesday’s baseball game between Beulah-Hazen and Mandan teetered the Mother Nature line all afternoon. Keeping on constant contact, Mandan made the 72-mile trip to Goldmann Field at McKenzie Park. The teams were out warming up when the darkening skies opened up to begin a 12-hour downpour.

It progressively got worse and after an hour the lightning was still visible so coaches were forced to postpone the WDA contest.

"By the time we called the game, there was water all over the field so there was no way we were going to get that game in," coach Bob Koch explained.
