By Jarann Johnson

The Miners started the week with two duals and ended it with a tournament. The first dual of the week was a 48-21 win and the second dual of the week was a close 31-25 loss. The only placer at the Bismarck Rotary Tournament was Issac Riplinger.
The Miners topped New Salem-Almont in a Region 4 dual last Tuesday. The Miners wrestled well in the match and won 48-21. Eighteen of New-Salem’s points came from forfeits. The only match New Salem-Almont won was a 3-0 decision at 138.
Josh Synder fell to Cullen Seager in the match at 138, but other than that it was Miner domination. The Minners picked up three pins.
Tyrel Mellmer (132) won by pin over Lane Doll in 1:17, Damian Eslinger (145) won by pin over Noah Thiel in 3:08 and Jeremy Leintz (106) won by pin over Josh Irwin in 3:12.
In the Miners other dual they fell just short of a win 31-25 to Des Lacs-Burlington. The Miners gave up 12 points on forfeits in the dual, because they had to forfeit at 113 and 120.
