NorthStars win season opener

By Jarann Johnson

Getting off on the right foot is a big step. It helps teams believe in what the coaching staff is preaching and game-planning. Last week the Hazen-Beulah NorthStars topped Mandan JV 7-1 in their season opener.
Hazen-Beulah senior Gabe Pfliger player a huge role in the win. He scored the first goal of the game 18 seconds into play and added two other goals to collect the first Hazen-Beulah hat-trick of the season.
Dayton Fiddler, a junior, also played well scoring two goals to lead Hazen-Beulah.
Landen Sayler, sophomore, and Jake Folk, sophomore, also scored for Hazen-Beulah.
Hazen-Beulah got a great performance from senior goalkeeper Evan Eliason. Eliason saved 30 shots and only gave up 1 score in the win.
After the game Hazen-Beulah head coach Dan Frei said starting with a win against Mandan JV was a good start to the season.
