Regrouping after storm proves tough

By Jarann Johnson

Hazen entered their game against Fargo in survival mode. They needed to win to stay alive. Fargo made sure Hazen’s task was tough, only giving up one hit during the contest and winning 10-0.
Fargo scored the first run of the game, scoring on a fielder’s choice in the bottom of the first inning. Both pitchers settled into a flow and the game approached the top of the third.
Adin Jungers leadoff for Hazen. Soon a sprinkle of rain turned into a full storm and the tournament officials decided to cancel the rest of the day. Both teams returned on the next morning to finish their game. Hazen didn’t fare well during the restart.
