Cardinals, Warriors collide

Sports Writer
The Standing Rock Warriors came to Washburn Saturday to face the 2-0 Cardinals.
Standing Rock had dispatched Solen in their first contest of the season while Washburn beat White Shield and Nedrose in the McLean County Shootout.
Standing Rock would open with a high-pressure, full-court press that challenged the Cardinals ball handlers right out of the gate.
Head coach Pablo Ronderos had to burn two timeouts in the first quarter to get his team under control as the play of the Warriors was leading to many turnovers.
Standing Rock would jump out to a 12-3 lead before Ronderos was able to corral his team and figure out the strategy to break down the pressure.
The aggressive style of Standing Rock would incur some problems for their side as well.
